Julia Ann Hennessey, 79, of Connellsville, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Julia was born August 12, 1944, in Everson, the daughter of the late Francis R. and Rita A. Shandorf Erwin Sr. Julia graduated from Connellsville Area High School in 1963. She attended Grace Fellowship Church in Everson. She worked on the Smith Glass paint line until it closed and retired as a caregiver at the Harmon House in Mount Pleasant. Julia was also past president of Fish and Game at the Bridgeport Sportsmans Club. She was a dog lover who could never turn away a stray dog. Julia is survived by her loving family. Her siblings Janet Fuoss, Clara Sebeck and William G. Erwin (Melanie); her sister-in-law Dorothy Erwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her boyfriend and life partner, Joseph Lewandowski, and her brothers, Russell J. Erwin and Francis R. Erwin, Jr. Family and friends will be received Monday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, INC., Mount Pleasant. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Swan officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery, Everson.
