Obituary for Marlene Minyon (2024) – New Kensington, PA

Marlene Minyon, 86, of New Kensington, died Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born February 5, 1938, in Creighton to Joseph and Bertha Kois Kustra. Marlene graduated from Arnold High School and worked for ten years as nutrition coordinator at the Valley House Group Home in Arnold. She was a passionate cook and baker. Marlene was a member of St. Joseph Church, New Kensington, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers and the Fisher Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Minyon, her son, Kenneth York, and her sister, Wilma Kustra. Marlene is survived by her sons, Keith (Brenda) York and Kevin (Kerry) York, her brothers, Joseph (Donna) Kustra and John (Jannene) Kustra, and her sister, Sophie Brenner; eight grandchildren: Stephen (Christinia) Gross, Beth Hirtz, Sean, Ericha, Kenneth Daniel, Zoe, Piper and Saxon York; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the JOSEPH J CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325.
