LITTLE EGG HARBOR – A township man was sentenced to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison after robbing a man, officials said.

Marc Manfredonia, 33, of Little Egg Harbor, previously pleaded guilty to robbery in connection with an incident that occurred on September 9, 2023, in Little Egg Harbor Township.

This sentence is subject to the provisions of the No Early Release Act, meaning Manfredonia must serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence before he can be considered for parole.

On September 9, 2023, police were called to a home on East Hudson Drive around 4:30 a.m. for a report of gunshots. Officers found a 36-year-old victim who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Pomona for treatment and subsequently released.

According to officials, the victim visited Manfredonia and Christopher Miller, 36, of Paterson, New Jersey, both of whom he knew, at the East Hudson Drive home where they lived. During that time, Miller and Manfredonia forcibly forced the victim out of the home and demanded money from him. Miller pulled out a gun and told the victim he would shoot him if he did not wire him money through a mobile app.

Officials said the victim made wire transfers, but Miller and Manfredonia demanded more money, which the victim refused.

A physical altercation ensued and Miller fired four shots, hitting the victim in the leg, groin and ear.

Officials said Manfredonia and Miller continued to physically assault the victim before going back inside the house. Afterward, the victim ran to a nearby home and called police.

Miller and Manfredonia were taken into custody at their homes without incident and transported to the Ocean County Jail, where they were later released as a result of New Jersey’s bail reform.

Charges against Miller for attempted murder, robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon are still pending.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer acknowledged the diligent efforts of Senior Assistant Prosecutor Mara Brater, who handled the case on behalf of the State, and commended the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department, Little Egg Harbor Township Detective Bureau, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and Mystic Island Volunteer Fire Department for their united and collective assistance in connection with this investigation, which resulted in Manfredonia’s arrest, guilty plea, and now his prison sentence.
