OHSAA Field Hockey Preview: Cleveland.com Preseason All-Stars, Top Players for 2024 Season

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Field hockey season has begun, which means some of Northeast Ohio’s top players are already beginning their journey toward postseason honors.

While the ultimate goal is to capture a state title with their teams, we want to highlight some of the players you’ll be hearing from this season.

Here are the 2024 Cleveland.com Preseason All-Stars for field hockey.

Professionals

Elena Girault, Shaker Heights, Sr.

Girault was named to the league’s second team and the region’s second team last season and was the Raiders’ best defensive player as a defender.

Tee Jerro, Magnificat, Sr.

Jerro was selected to the second league team and the second regional team last season. She has committed to Depauw University and will start as a goalkeeper for the Blue Streaks this season.

Sara Killeen, Hudson, Sr.

Killeen returns to the Explorers after being named to the region’s second team last season, scoring six goals and adding six assists in 2023.

Charlotte Juan, Shaker Heights, Sr.

Juan was the team’s leading scorer last season as a forward/midfielder. She finished the season with 20 goals and 12 assists and was selected to the first league and first regional teams.

Eleanor Miller, Shaker Heights, Jr.

Miller, a forward, was second on the team in points and first in goals scored last season and was selected to the second league team and the second region team.

Lexie St. Pierre, Hudson, Sr.

St. Pierre, a center back, was named to the All-State first team last season and was also an Academic All-State selection. She had 42 interceptions in the defensive circle in 2023. She has committed to play lacrosse at Louisville.

Alice Stein, Magnificat, Jr.

One of the fastest players in Northeast Ohio, Stein scored eight goals and had eight assists last season, the most on her team, and was named to the second team all-state and first team all-league in 2023.

Mackie Stickler, Hudson, Sr.

Stickler was selected to the region’s first team last season after scoring eight goals and adding two assists for the Explorers. She has committed to play lacrosse at Ohio State.

Elizabeth Wilson, Shaker Heights, So.

Wilson, a midfielder, was selected to the region’s second team as a freshman last season.

Nina Yacovone, Shaker Heights, So.

Yacovone, a midfielder, was first-team All-State as a freshman last season. She had eight goals and four assists in 2023.

Zashin River, Hawken, Sr.

Zashin, a midfielder, was part of the region’s first team last season after scoring 14 goals and providing eight assists.
