Packers lead 17-3 against Browns at halftime

The Packers opened the second quarter with a 51-yard punt by Daniel Whelan after Flyer Robert Rochell tackled Jaelon Darden on a 3-yard return. Behind No. 3 quarterback Tyler Huntley, the Browns drove to the Green Bay 25-yard line before safety Evan Williams made two straight tackles in the flat.

Cleveland tried fourth-and-4, but Huntley’s pass to Ahmarean Brown was incomplete. The Packers took over at the Cleveland 23-yard line. Green Bay opened with a 14-yard pass over the middle to Malik Heath after a playaction.

Emanuel Wilson was the Packers’ leading player in the series, carrying the ball seven times for 36 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown run to extend the Green Bay Packers’ lead to 14-3 with 2:48 left in the first half.

The Packers faced fourth-and-3 after an incomplete pass to Melton. Green Bay tried from their own 45-yard line, and Clifford hit Grant DuBose on a 13-yard out to keep the series going.

Two plays later, the Browns went offside, allowing Clifford to pass again to DuBose, who completed the ball 14 yards to the Cleveland 26. Wilson picked up the next first down with a 9-yard run, followed by a 3-yard run on third-and-1.

Wilson followed his blocks and made a 9-yard gain to the Cleveland 5, setting up first-and-goal. He finished the drive with a 5-yard touchdown run that capped the 13-play, 77-yard touchdown drive.

The Packers defense forced a three-and-out after Van Ness pushed Huntley into the arms of Colby Wooden, who made the sack for a 10-yard loss. Green Bay took the lead at its own 36 with 58 seconds left.

DuBose made a spectacular catch for a 23-yard field goal on third-and-ninth, setting up a 46-yard field goal pass by Anders Carlson that gave the Green Bay Packers a 17-3 halftime lead.
