Pamela Kay Read, 67 | Coeur d’Alene Press

Pamela Kay Read, called Pam by her friends and family, died on December 18, 2023, at the age of 67 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho after a long illness. She was born on July 28, 1956, in Lorain, Ohio, to Charles Allen Read and Ethel Vivian Russell.

As a teenager, she moved with her parents and siblings to Tucson, Arizona. In 1992, Pamela moved to Las Vegas and was hired at Treasure Island Casino on opening day. Wanting something different, Pamela eventually moved to Coeur d’Alene to be closer to her daughter and beloved grandchildren. Always seeking personal growth, she pursued her dream of helping others and became a registered nursing assistant upon returning to school.

One of Pamela’s greatest accomplishments was cruising to Europe and exploring the beautiful city of Rome. Pamela had a passion for painting and expressed her creativity through her artwork and musical talent. She found comfort and joy in going to church and sharing her love for Jesus. Before her death, Pamela was baptized in the Catholic Church, which deepened her spiritual connection.

Pam’s parents and siblings Ellen Dukeman, Kathy Elam and Robert Read predeceased her. She is survived by her daughters Melissa Lee of Rancho Cucamonga, California, and Jennifer Cadwell of Athol, Idaho; her grandchildren Jeanna, Breann, Alexander, Zoey, Zander and Zaden; her sisters Carol Price, Cynthia Roberts and Dawn Ann Read; and her brothers Thomas and James Read. Pam also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Captain Jack, who brought much love and companionship to her life.

Pamela Kay Read will be remembered for her spirit of adventure, her artistic talent, and her unwavering faith. Her devotion to her family, her love of God, and her desire to help others will be remembered forever.

A private family service took place.
