Everyone’s favorite web-slinger has found his way to D23 for the new animated prequel series Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. The film, due out later this year, is set to show a variation of Peter Parker’s life before he first donned the mask and suit in the MCU, and during his difficult first days as a hero in New York. It’s been a while since fans first got a look at the early animations inspired by the Spider-Man comics, but the biennial Fan Expo made up for it with a comprehensive update on the project, with a new sneak peek at the project available exclusively at the convention.

As Collider’s reports Aidan Kelley And Ms Taylor Gates, The footage showed Peter Parker (Hudson Thames) at school, where his day is interrupted by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) comes through a portal along with a horned symbiote. We see Peter being bitten by a spider in a sequence where he demonstrates how he got his powers, before the footage catches up with him a few months later, with Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo) and helped him as his “man in the chair” in strategy development.

Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is seen as a meeting between Spidey’s earliest years on the page, portrayed by Stan Lee and his first years in the MCU. When Tom HollandThe web-swinger first appeared on screen in Captain America: Civil Warhe had already received his powers a year earlier, so there was a gap to fill. However, this series will still take place in a different continuity within the multiverse and will explore how Peter navigates the life of a teenager after receiving his powers. His skills and sense of duty are put to the test when he is immediately thrown into battle with formidable enemies to protect the city.

A big difference between the series and the MCU is who takes young Peter under his wing. Instead of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Spidey receives much-needed guidance from Norman Osborn, who helps Peter survive high school while becoming his true hero.
