A rare spectacle began on Sunday evening when Supermoon in August, blue moon rose into the sky.

The first of four consecutive supermoons of 2024, the blue moon will reach its peak brightness on Monday and shine brightly through Wednesday.

According to NASA, the front side of the moon will be 100% illuminated on Monday and 99% illuminated on Tuesday.

The August full moon is the first of four consecutive supermoons this year. The September full moon – also called the Harvest Moon – reaches its brightest on Tuesday, September 17.

The Hunter’s Moon reaches its peak on Thursday, October 17th, and the final supermoon – known as the Beaver Moon – on Friday, November 15th.
