The Spartans play the old-fashioned single-wing offense with some modern variations. But it all comes down to running the football, and that’s a big deal for Pinconning. “We’ve got to be able to build strength, get that 3.5 per gain, and that’s going to give us some big opportunities,” Mulligan said. “In our good games, we were able to do that last year. In our bad games, we weren’t able to do it.”

“Find a way is our motto and nothing changes,” Mulligan said. “No matter how many times you get knocked down, you always have to get back up and keep hunting.”
SCRIMMAGE NOTE
The Spartans hosted Laker, Oscoda and Carrollton for their practice game and saw promising results from their offense. “We had seven different guys score,” Mulligan said. “That tells me we have a lot more weapons and the guys understand the offense.”
