“Power Changes Everything” in Season 2 of RINGS OF POWER

Prime Video’s latest trailer for the second season of THE LORD OF THE RINGS: RINGS OF POWER promises “Power changes everything.”
The trailer “shows Middle-earth in the turmoil of the discord sown by Sauron and the deception and manipulation that led to the creation of more of the titular Rings of Power,” a press release says.
“In the fire, unlikely alliances are forged and true friendships are tested. Dangers no longer lurk in the shadows, but creep their way into the light,” the press release continues. “Important decisions rest on the shoulders of the realms of Eregion, Khazad-dûm, Lindon, Númenor and the lands in between, for the safety and peace of these kingdoms is at stake.”

The trailer comes just over two weeks before the release of THE RINGS OF POWER season 2 on August 29. The first three episodes of season 2 will premiere on Prime Video that day, with subsequent episodes being released weekly until the season finale on October 3, 2024.
“This season features the long-awaited Siege of Eregion, a decisive battle in JRR Tolkien’s story of the Second Age of Middle-earth from which not everyone emerges alive. The banners have been raised and the devastating war against Sauron has only just begun,” the press release states.
Movieguide® has already reported on what fans can expect from Season 2:
“Rejected by Galadriel and without an army or allies, the aspiring Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power that will enable him to bend all the peoples of Middle-earth to his dark will,” the synopsis states.
“The new season builds on the epic scope and ambition of the first season, plunging even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness. Each of them must find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of disaster,” it continues. “Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and harfoots… as friendships are tested and kingdoms begin to crumble, the forces of goodwill fight ever more valiantly to preserve what matters most to them… each other.”
Movieguide® presented RINGS OF POWER Season 1, Episode 8 with a Teddy Bear Award®, praising its “very strong allegorical proto-Christian, redemptive worldview of good versus demonic evil.”
