Power has been restored to more than 510,000 customers affected by Debby in the Carolinas, and line crews are on track to repair remaining outages by Friday evening.

  • Fewer than 10,000 customers were still without power by midday. Power should be restored by this evening.

CHARLOTTE, NC, 9 August 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Duke Energy restored power to more than 95% of affected customers in the Carolinas within 24 hours of Tropical Storm Debby’s arrival. In total, the company has repaired more than 510,000 outages caused by the storm in the Carolinas.

“Our teams have been working quickly and safely for more than 24 hours and our work will not stop until every single one of our customers has power,” said Jason HollifieldStorm Director for Duke Energy in the Carolinas. “On behalf of the 7,500 workers involved in storm response, I thank our customers for their patience and our communities for their support.”
