Two streets in East Bay were closed early Thursday morning after two car crashes, one of which caused a power outage, authorities said.
Police closed Buskirk Avenue in Pleasant Hill between Mayhew Drive and the Crossroads Shopping Center at Monument Boulevard “indefinitely” after what they say was an “accident.” Pleasant Hill police issued an alert about the accident and road closure at about 1:55 a.m.
Further details of the incident were not available early Wednesday morning, but the road was still closed at 6:30 a.m.
The Pleasant Hill incident also resulted in a power outage affecting 86 customers, according to PG&E’s outage map. Police said the County Connection bus stop in the area was also closed.
In Walnut Creek, police issued an alert around 6:15 a.m. that motorists should avoid westbound Ygnacio Valley Road from Cowell Road “until further notice” because officers were at the scene of the crash. Police cleared the road at 7 a.m.
Further details about this wreck were not initially available.
Police from both agencies said that further information on the incidents would be released later Thursday.
Please check back later for updates.
