Prince William wears a five o’clock shadow!
In a new video alongside Ms. Kate Middleton marks the end of the Olympic Games 2024 in ParisThe Prince and Princess of Wales, both 42, surprise the athletes from Great Britain who took part in the competitions, bringing the country a total of 65 medals. William – who traditionally favours a clean-shaven look – sports a short beard and a Team Great Britain T-shirt as they address the competitors.
“All of us watching at home congratulate Team GB,” Middleton tells the camera, while her husband adds: “Well done for what you have achieved. You are an inspiration to us all.”
The video also features a number of other famous faces including Snoop Dogg, David Beckham and a host of other celebs congratulating the British athletes who won 14 gold medals, 22 silver medals and 29 bronze medals for their country. The team finished 7th overall.
In the caption of the post, the two congratulated their home team in detail and expressed their anticipation for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris, which begin at the end of August and last until September.
“Every athlete has shown tremendous commitment, heart and passion. You have made us all so proud!” reads the caption. “We celebrate every triumph at @paris2024 and look forward to more from @paralympicsgb_official later in the summer 🇬🇧🥇.”
It is another welcome appearance by the Prince and Princess of Wales, who have otherwise endured a difficult year after announcing Middleton’s health problems in January. After weeks of conspiracy theories, Kensington Palace later announced that Middleton had been diagnosed with cancer and would undergo treatment for this condition.
Middleton was absent from many royal events and some family gatherings – including a trip to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert in London in June – has since reappeared in public for a few appearances.
The Princess of Wales her first major public appearance during the Trooping of the Colour in June, but then missed the Eras Tour with William and two of their three children – the couple has Princess Charlotte (9), Prince George (10) and Prince Louis (6) – as she was at home with the youngest of her brood.
In July, Kate attended a tennis match at Wimbledon with her daughterDuring the trip, mother and daughter watched the game from the stands, beaming.
The royals also liked them Social media accounts to celebrate their return.
“Great to be back at @Wimbledon!” the post read, alongside a photo of her waving from the stands. “There’s nothing like the Championships 🎾.”
