Diabetes is a chronic disease in which the pancreas is unable to produce the amount of insulin required by the body. Sometimes, the body is also unable to use all the insulin produced. Insulin helps regulate blood sugar levels in the body. The most common symptoms of diabetes are fatigue, weight loss, blurred vision, excessive thirst and frequent urination. In some cases, there may be no symptoms at all. There are two types of diabetes – type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. However, with a suitable lifestyle and dietary changes, diabetes symptoms can be managed. Eat proteins and vegetables before carbohydrates:

“The order in which we eat can play an important role in controlling blood sugar levels. Studies have shown that eating proteins and vegetables before carbohydrates actually works. Science suggests that because proteins and vegetables take longer to digest, they delay the release of glucose into the bloodstream, thereby reducing the blood sugar spikes that normally follow a high-carbohydrate meal,” explained Dr. Pramod Tripathi.
