Red Sox make some pitching decisions for upcoming series against Blue Jays

The Boston Red Sox have made a few pitching changes for tomorrow’s doubleheader. Nick Pivetta has been named the starter for Game 1, according to Chris Cotillo. Rookie Richard Fitts was slated to be the starter for Game 2, but is unlikely to pitch, according to Chris Cotillo.

Pivetta has posted a 4.70 ERA this season and has definitely been an up and down pitcher. Hopefully he throws well tomorrow against Toronto.

As for the second game of the doubleheader, it’s still undecided, and nothing is decided for Tuesday either. Richard Fitts, the Sox’s most promising pitcher, has posted a 4.47 ERA in AAA, but he’s dominated over the last month.

Games four and five will be started by Brayan Bello and Kutter Crawford. Both have had poor performances in their last few starts but have proven they can take over games.

The Sox’s first game in their final push for a place in the playoffs will take place tomorrow; it is the game that was suspended at the beginning of the season.
