With the highly anticipated release of Star Wars Outlaws, the first open-world Star Wars game that allows players to explore familiar and alien planets across the galaxy, it’s almost time to return to a galaxy far, far away.

Players traverse the galaxy as Kay Vess, an aspiring villain in search of freedom and a new life. You must fight, steal, and outsmart your way through the most powerful crime syndicates and earn your place on the galaxy’s most wanted list.

Explore everything from bustling cities and canteens to vast landscapes, race your speeder or pilot your ship, the Trailblazer, as you live the risky lifestyle of an outlaw, including dogfights with the sinister Empire, gain the upper hand over your enemies and complete unique challenges that yield tempting rewards.

Here’s everything we know about Star Wars Outlaws.

Reviews for Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Some special players have already secured a limited gameplay preview of Star Wars Outlaws and the first reviews are coming in:

  • “I have to say, the game lives up to expectations and is worth a try.” – @Horror-Board6465, reddit.com/r/StarWarsOutlaws.
  • “I think the gameplay is pretty fun and the world seems really well constructed.” – @michaelwatson95, reddit.com/r/StarWarsOutlaws.
  • “I walked away disappointed. Nothing about Outlaws feels bad; hell, bad would have been better than what I played, because then it could have at least been somewhat memorable. Instead, Outlaws feels pretty mediocre and unmemorable. What I played feels like a bunch of different features and mechanics borrowed from other games that do those things better, all while masquerading as a Star Wars game without actually embodying the themes and storylines of Star Wars.” – Jordan Ramee, GameSpot editor. Read the full review at gamespot.com.
  • “Having played Star Wars Outlaws for a good hour before the Ubisoft Forward show, I now appreciate Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor even more. Actually, a little more – compared to Outlaws’ admittedly early, work-in-progress demo, they are unique pieces of revolutionary high art. Outlaws’ early gameplay feels downright old – not just mechanically, but in execution, in its almost total lack of character, flair, inventiveness, detail or style. When I try to describe it, the closest comparison that comes to mind is Uncharted: Golden Abyss, which came out on the PS Vita in 2011.” – Chris Tapsell, Deputy Editor of Euro Gamer, read the full review on eurogamer.net.

The review embargo for the full game will be lifted on Monday 26th August at 1pm UK time (5am Arizona time).
