Review by James Attias

Titans #14 is a chaotic, demon-ridden, action-packed battle for the soul of our reality! Heroes and villains try to outdo each other, but the winner takes the Earth… FUN!

The ghost at the party

This issue is basically Avengers: Infinity War with the Titans, I won’t give away any more details, but we know how it turned out. Raven, or The Dark Winged Queen as she now secretly calls herself, seems to be encasing powerful beings in soul stones. (Similar to the one she usually wears on her forehead). The Dark Winged Queen’s plan has yet to be fully revealed to us, but we expect that not everything will be rosy. At least the Titans now know that Raven isn’t Raven. This mystery has been going on for a year, since the end of Knight Terrors (which, according to Nightwing, was just a few months ago in the story’s continuity).

Taylor’s writing style in this issue brings us up to speed and gets us to the point quickly. I’m a huge fan of that. There’s nothing worse than when the audience knows something and is desperately waiting for the characters to catch up. We had a bit of the last issue/the previous issue, but it was handled so well. It wasn’t dragged out, which made reading this issue all the more satisfying.

You should have aimed for the head

In this issue we see just how big the threat of the Dark Winged Queen is. I’m excited to see how this story ends in light of current events. Absolute power – reviewed by myself for Dark Knight News. Because the Titans play an important role in it too.
I’ve talked about how Taylor’s writing is light, heavy, and perfect all at the same time in this issue. But let’s talk about how beautiful the art is… Daniele Di Nicuolo and Adriano Lucas, take a bow. The characters, the colors, the set design, and the Easter eggs. Simply wonderful. I can’t stress enough how great art can make even the worst comic better – see All Star Batman and Robin. But with the wonderful writing and great art, this was a pleasure from start to finish.

Diploma

Titans #14 prepares us for a great battle for the fate of the world. But who will win… good or evil?
