Sauron plays mind games with Adar in the first clips of the second season of THE RINGS OF POWER

Remember when I said that all this was happening for me, The Rings of Power Sneak peeks, trailers and teasers for the second season? Good news, everything is still going well for me. And hopefully you are too. The first published clips from The Rings of Power Season two puts two of the series’ best characters in the spotlight, Sauron and Adar. Of course, Adar thinks he killed Sauron and has no idea that the Dark Lord has actually returned. On the other hand, we have Sauron, who knows Adar betrayed him, who almost killed him in season one and probably still wants to, but instead he does what Sauron does best. The Rings of Powerplays with the minds of others and manipulates them for his own ends.

In the first clip of The Rings of Power (starts at timecode 4:24 for the Fallon Clip) we see Sauron posing as Halbrand, King of the Southlands, bargaining for “his people” and his freedom. He claims to want to save the Southlands in exchange for information about “a wizard” with whom Galadriel is supposedly working. Of course, he drops just enough hints to make sure Adar knows he means Sauron, quoting his own favorite saying: “Power over the flesh.” Sauron must know how much the suggestion that he is alive will haunt Adar, who thought he was free of his and his children’s tormentor. But that’s obviously part of the fun for Sauron.

“You cannot kill me,” Sauron then tells Adar. And it’s true, Adar really cannot kill Sauron. The mind games are already in full swing, pointing to a season of mischief on Sauron’s part and much pain on everyone else’s part.

These clips make me very excited about what is to come The Rings of Power Season two. Not just because I am the world’s biggest Adar lover, although I am, but because this The Rings of Power Clips are really awesome. Charlie Vickers and Sam Hazeldine are amazing in their performances, the tension in the scenes is delicious and the nuances and layers of action in each performance really take your breath away.

Where will this lead for Sauron and Adar? The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power? Probably nothing good for the current ruler of Mordor, especially since we already know that sooner or later he will be the ex-ruler of Mordor. I just hope he ends up with the elves and not dead. But either way, we will be excited to follow every step of the way. The Rings of Power The first three episodes will air on August 29th.
