Shaq sells Texas mansion for .7 million in just one month

It’s a slam dunk for the former NBA star Shaquille O’Nealwho sold his Texas mansion for $1.7 million just one month after it came on the market.

The sale price for the Carrollton, Texas, property, which was listed for $1,695,000, was not disclosed. It’s likely that Shaq, 52, made a nice profit on the home, which was for sale for $1,224,000 when he purchased it in 2022.

Located just outside of Dallas, the home offers numerous amenities – not least the privilege of privacy offered by Gates of Prestonwood, the gated community of which it is part.

Described in the Realtor.com® listing as an “elegant home” with “lush landscaping,” the villa features five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, making it ideal for a growing family.

It’s also the perfect place to host a big party, thanks to the “dream kitchen” that includes a six-burner Wolf gas stove and a large cooking island.

There’s also a cigar lounge, home theater and spacious living areas, all with high ceilings and an open floor plan. For outdoor entertaining, there’s a grotto-style pool and plenty of space for grilling out back.

The master bedroom has a sitting area and large columns at the entrance to the bathroom.

O’Neal will no doubt be pleased with the quick sale of his home, especially given that he took a big loss on another property in 2022: a Florida mansion that he had to sell for 60% less than the original asking price.

This Windermere property was put on the market in 2018 for a whopping $28 million. The price was reduced to $22 million after just a few months, and in April 2021, the price was $16.5 million.

O’Neal ultimately sold it for a paltry $11 million, although he still made a good profit on the $3.95 million he paid for the house in 1993.

He is not the only NBA legend who has had problems in the real estate market.

His former rival on the pitch, Michael Jordanhad great difficulty selling his $14,855,000 mansion in Chicago, which has been for sale since 2012.

O’Neal is one of the best big men of all time in the NBA. He won four NBA titles, including three in a row with the Los Angeles LakersHis skills on the court were legendary, as evidenced by his 49 games with 40 points or more.

Today, O’Neal has traded in his uniform and sneakers for a suit and tie and works as a game analyst for “Inside the NBA.”
