In three months, the Duke basketball team will be in Atlanta to play Kentucky in the Champions Classic, one of the highlights of the early-season college basketball schedule.

The Blue Devils will have a largely different look in the 2024–25 season, replacing nine players with ten new additions, including four transfer portal signings and six freshmen.

Tyrese Proctor and Caleb Foster are the holdovers. This duo will be joined by Cooper Flagg, among others, in Jon Scheyer’s third season as head coach.

But it’s never too early to take a look at who could join the Blue Devils in the 2025-26 season. Here’s an update on four players in the class of 2025, each of whom counts Duke among their final favorites.

Duke Basketball could be favorite to sign Shelton Henderson

Henderson, a 6-foot-5 small forward from Texas, is a top-25 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. He is scheduled to take an official visit to Durham during the Countdown to Craziness on Oct. 4, narrowing Henderson down to six schools. The Blue Devils are the favorites to land Henderson, who could be Duke’s next star on the wing.

Dutch star Dwayne Aristode is the rising star of the class of 2025

Aristode, a 6-foot-1 winger from Brewster Academy, is ranked No. 18 in the 247Sports Composite. The Dutch star, who is scheduled to attend Michigan State in late August and Duke in September, has yet to receive an official scholarship offer from the Blue Devils. Still, as a rising star in the class of 2025, Aristode is a key target.

Braylon Mullins to attend Duke and UNC

The sharpshooter from Indiana is a little under the radar, but he’s a national top-100 player in the 247Sports Composite. Mullins, who plays for Duke and North Carolina, is considered a top-five shooting guard by 247Sports.

Acaden Lewis is one of Duke’s most promising guard talents

Acaden Lewis, one of the top point guards in the class of 2025, has Duke among his final eight schools. Lewis, a combo guard from the DMV, visited Durham on Aug. 6 and is scheduled to take an official visit sometime in the fall. Lewis, a rising star in his class, rose from just outside the top 100 in 247Sports’ rankings to nearly the top 25.
