Sherwin-Williams has just released its color trend forecast for 2025

Every year, the major paint brands predict which colors they think will be most popular in the following calendar year—and the predictions have already come true. Today, Sherwin-Williams announced its 2025 Colormix Forecast: Capsules, which consists of 48 hand-picked trend colors that will dominate interior and exterior design next year.

The collection is divided into four capsules: Chrysalis, Paradox, Wellspring and Kindred. Each capsule tells a deeper story behind the colors in a home, providing a place where everyone can find something that suits their space and style.

While last year’s Colormix Forecast was divided into color families – blues and greens, reds and purples, dark and bold tones, and delicate shades – each palette in the 2025 collection has its own theme and the emotions it aims to evoke.

“The Colormix 2025 forecast shows that we all crave authenticity, and the most authentic approach is to focus on colors that speak to you personally,” said Sue Wadden, color marketing director at Sherwin-Williams, MarthaStewart.com. “It provides a new outlook on trends for 2025 and each capsule collection appeals to different personalities and home aesthetics.”

Designed to evoke a peaceful feeling, this palette includes colors inspired by wood tones, sand, and freshly turned earth. “Chrysalis fits perfectly with the Japandi aesthetic, as both aim to create retreats and evoke calm and intention,” says Wadden.

Paradox taps into the dopamine decor trend that’s hot right now, offering bright colors, grounding neutrals and candy-colored accents, all designed to make spaces more cheerful. “With its lush and unexpected colors full of contrast, it’s the ideal choice for an eclectic design look,” Wadden says of the Paradox capsule.

If your home has a mid-century modern aesthetic, Wellspring is the color palette for you. The colors included in this capsule are traditional, timeless and functional, says Wadden. From mystical blues to meditative midtones, these hues will help you connect with the natural world.

Maximalists will love this palette, says Wadden. “It’s full of different colors, from brights to pastels to darks, all of which help create a diverse space,” she says. The Kindred capsule includes a collection of warm neutrals and bold darks.
