What if you could show off your love for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color every time you leave the house? Cortland, New York-based shoe manufacturer Bull Airs is bringing back two of its most popular gaming-themed shoes, and they look incredible. Oh, and you can’t imagine how much I’d love to call myself the “Fresh Prince of Bull Air” in this title…
Shoe Boy & Shoe Boy Color are returning in limited quantities due to popular demand and for a Nintendo handheld lover like myself, they are the ultimate hi-tops. And while the company sells a range of gaming shoes based on classic consoles, it’s the Atomic Purple Shoe Boy Color with a transparent casing effect, the “Color” branding used for the GBC on the side of the sole and little features like the “A & B” buttons that make me want to throw on a pair and head out with my Game Boy Color and Pokémon Gold in hand.
The DMG variant is also excellent, complete with the exact color style and green-tinted screen we all know and love from Nintendo’s iconic handheld. In fact, both shoes bear a resemblance to the screen of the handheld they are based on, complete with the red power indicator. I wouldn’t be surprised if these made you run faster when playing Metroid II or Donkey Kong Country!
Let’s talk about the Shoe Boy colorway for a minute. This will be limited to 100 units, 92 of which will be the Atomic Purple variant. There will also be 2 Chase options (highly limited and highly sought after options) in Green, Yellow, Teal and Pink!
