Due to increased fire activity at the Snag Fire, 11 miles east of Cascade, the Valley County Sheriff’s Office has issued an evacuation order for residents of Warm Lake and the North Shore Lodge in Warm Lake.

The Valley County Sheriff’s Office said residents who are currently away from home will be granted one-time access to the Warm Lake area if they can provide a valid address.

In addition to the evacuation order, access via Warm Lake Highway is closed on the east side of Scott Valley. Currently, westbound traffic toward Cascade is permitted via Warm Lake Highway.

The Valley County Sheriff’s Office says anyone remaining in the area should be prepared for a complete closure of Warm Lake Highway and carry enough fuel to exit the area via the Deadwood area or Lick Creek Road.

South Fork Road remains closed due to construction unrelated to the Snag Fire.
