“We are immensely proud of our fellows and their achievements. We believe they are the innovators and changemakers of tomorrow. Through them, we hope to realize our vision of a better and sustainable Philippines in the future,” said Joseph Yu, President and CEO of SNAP.

Among the honored scholars is Jezryll Hulog, who graduated with honors from Benguet State University with a Bachelor of Secondary Education.

In a message to SNAP, Hulog said that participating in the Brights program “has instilled in her a deep sense of responsibility and gratitude.”

“Their (SNAP) commitment to developing young minds has not only given me academic knowledge, but also the determination to make a positive contribution to society,” she said.

Jennifer Asistido, one of the SNAP-MAGAT scholars, will graduate with a degree in management accounting this August.

Asistio expressed gratitude for being selected as a SNAP scholar, saying, “Those yes votes during counseling really changed the course of my life.”

“A huge thank you to SNAP and everyone involved in the program. You are making a real difference in people’s lives. I hope that one day I will be able to help others achieve their dreams like SNAP helped me,” she added.

SNAP also hosted congratulatory dinners in Magat and Benguet with the scholarship recipients and their families in July this year to celebrate this milestone, followed by another round of selection for new scholarship recipients.

It is said that 12 more scholarship recipients have now been accepted into the program for the coming school year. This brings the total number of scholarship recipients supported since the Brights program began in 2018 to 115.

Yu said that three former Brights scholars are currently employed by SNAP and that Jasmin Montes will join SNAP-Benguet as Corporate Social Responsibility Assistant in 2023 and is now part of the selection panel for this year’s scholarship program.

“I started building my future with SNAP, and to this day I continue to do so with them. Now I help others build their futures, and in turn, the futures of the communities they serve,” Montes said.
