For the third time in as many years, Somerset is one of Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine’s nominees for Top Adventure Towns in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
Somerset is one of 25 nominees and the only Pennsylvania city nominated in the small town category (population between 3,001 and 16,000). Cities in each category (tiny, small, medium and large) were chosen based on their strong opportunities for outdoor recreation and adventure.

“There are many towns in the Blue Ridge Mountains that offer excellent recreational opportunities and a vibrant cultural life centered around nature,” said Jedd Ferris, the magazine’s editor-in-chief, in a press release from GO Laurel Highlands, the region’s destination marketing organization.

The first round of online voting runs through August 18. To vote, visit the magazine’s website. A second round of voting will be held August 19-25, and the final round will be held August 26-31. The winning towns in each category will be announced in the November issue of Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine.
