Southside Marketplace in the Riverside and Locust Point neighborhoods is changing its color scheme. A new coat of paint on the buildings will change the mall’s color scheme from beige and dark gray to white, gray and brown.
Andrew Kabat, senior vice president and senior market officer at Regency Centers, the property’s owner, told SouthBMore.com that they “believe a fresh coat of paint would add some value to the center.”
He added: “The aesthetic updates to our centres are part of our Fresh Look initiative that we are implementing across our portfolio. It’s a great way to make a positive impact.”
The new paint job began in recent weeks and is about halfway complete. The first signs of a new color scheme for the mall came when Giant opened last year with a white and gray storefront.
Southside Marketplace has seen an influx of new tenants in recent years. Giant opened in 2022, Five Below and Quickway Japanese Hibachi opened in 2023, and Sparkling Charms Dental Studio opened in the spring. Advance Auto Parts, Dirty Dough Cookies, Buffalo Wild Wings Go and Inspire Nail Bar are opening soon.
