“Thank you for replacing the broken transformer in time and improving the cooling measures to ensure the safety of the bus charging station.” On August 12, Li Zhenke, an employee of Yueqing Public Transport Operation Co Ltd, thanked Yu Xianzhou and Dai Xiangquan, employees of State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company, who completed the emergency repair of the power grid.
Yueqing Public Transport Operation Co Ltd is located at No. 226, Qianfan West Road, the prosperous section of Chengnan Road in Yueqing city. It handles the main power supply of the city’s public transport system. The high-voltage facilities provide charging services for the huge electric bus fleet, which provides solid support for green travel. During the hot summer, these high-voltage facilities are frequently stressed and failures occur from time to time.
At 12:00 on August 12, the high-voltage equipment tripped again. When the State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company learned of the situation, it immediately sent a “power manager” to the site to check the high-voltage equipment. After troubleshooting, it was found that the company’s transformer emitted a peculiar smell and the high-voltage transformer had traces of burning. It was found through the detection system that the power load of the transformer was too high at noon, and the high-voltage equipment frequently failed due to high temperature and no cooling system was installed. In order to solve this, the company actively cooperated with users, replaced faulty power equipment, and improved cooling measures. At the same time, it promoted the intelligent transformation of charging stations, introduced advanced charging technology and management systems, improved charging efficiency and safety, more accurately grasped the working status of charging stations through real-time monitoring and data analysis, found and solved problems in time, and ensured that the normal charging needs of electric buses were met.
With the integrated development of urban and rural public transportation, Yueqing has nearly 1,000 public transportation vehicles, 70 percent of which are electric buses. Except for buses running in mountainous areas, the electrification rate has reached 100 percent.
