SWREL wins solar order worth Rs 550 crore from Rajasthan

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWREL) has announced the win of a major solar energy contract in Rajasthan.

In a press release, SWREL announced that it has won a new contract for the design, engineering, testing and commissioning of a 400 MW (AC)/633 MW (DC) solar photovoltaic power plant in Rajasthan. The contract also includes the supply of a 33/220 kV switchgear to be constructed at the power plant site.

The total value of the contract, including taxes, is around Rs 550 crore, according to SWREL. This mandate took SWREL’s cumulative order intake to around Rs 900 crore in the second quarter (July-September) of FY25.

Amit Jain, Global CEO of Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group, said of the contract win: “We are delighted to have secured another large domestic contract from a leading private renewable energy IPP in India. The Indian market continues to grow rapidly and as an established domestic EPC player, we are positioned to achieve this high growth.”

“With this order win, SWREL has now achieved around Rs 900 crore of domestic order inflows in the second quarter of FY25. This is in addition to the order inflow of Rs 2,170 crore in the first quarter and we remain confident of further increasing this order momentum as we have a strong domestic supply pipeline,” he added.
