CRICKET WEST INDIES (CWI) ANNOUNCES T20I SQUAD FOR HOME SERIES AGAINST SOUTH AFRICA IN 2024

Cricket West Indies (CWI) is pleased to announce the selection of the West Indies men’s squad for the upcoming T20 International (T20I) series against South Africa, scheduled to be played in Trinidad from 23 to 27 August 2024.

The selected squad for the T20I series is as follows:

Noting that South Africa ended the West Indies’ World Cup campaign with a defeat in the Super 8s, overturning the 3-0 result of the pre-World Cup series in Jamaica, head coach Daren Sammy noted:

The West Indies men’s T20 team has won four of its last five series and narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the recently concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup held in the Caribbean. In the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, West Indies are ranked number 4 and South Africa number 5.

All matches will kick off at 3pm local time and will be part of doubleheaders with the Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL). This will be the first time the WI Men’s Internationals will be part of a doubleheader with a women’s franchise competition, allowing cricket fans to watch the best male and female players on the same ticket. The WCPL will be held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad from August 21-29.
