The catalogue for the Tattersalls September sale has been published and is available online, the auction house announced in a press release on Tuesday.

The event is due to take place on Tuesday 10 September, having previously taken place in late August. 240 lots have been put together comprising 155 colts and geldings in and out of training and 77 mares and foals in and out of training. Seven broodmares have also been catalogued. Consignments are planned from some of England’s leading trainers, including lots offered on behalf of John & Thady Gosden and Roger Varian.

One of the highlights of the auction is Lot 71 God of Fire (Irish) (Muhraar {GB}), who comes to the auction on a three-race winning streak and comes from the family of the two-year-old European Champion colt and three-year-old co-champion St. Mark’s Basilica (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}). The half-brother of this multiple Group 1 winner is the two-time Group 1 winner Magna Grecia (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), whose joint Group winner is a half-sister to the mare who produced the multiple Listed winner and multiple Group placed Dancing Tango (Ire) (Camelot {GB}). The four-year-old brings a Timeform Rating of 97 from his last three attempts.

The group winner form is also offered as Dubai Station (GB) (Brazen Beau {Aus}), Lot 58, and Tactical (GB) (Toronado {Ire}), Lot 128, will go through the ring. Amo Racing’s multiple placed in the group Crispy Cat (GB) (Ardad {Ire}), lot 186, is offered with a win in a major race in the United States to his credit in his last three races.

Also catalogued is Born Ruler (GB) (Kingman {GB}) as Lot 190, a grandson of the European Champion 3-year-old mare, the Irish Champion older mare and the multiple Group 1 winner Ouija Board (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire}). The 4-year-old gelding thus comes from the family of the European joint Champion 3-year-old colts Australia (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) and his half-brother, the Group 1-placed Frontiersman (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}). Lot 111 Mascarpone (UK) (Massaat {Ire}) is listed and placed in the Pat Eddery Stakes at Ascot, his full sister is catalogued in Book 3 of the October Yearling Sale a month later.

The complete catalogue can be viewed here.

The sale will be held both in person and online, with buyers having the opportunity to bid online via the Tattersalls Live Internet Bidding platform. Printed catalogues will be available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls agents from Monday 19 August.

“Since its launch in 2020, this event – previously held at the end of August – has quickly established itself as a consistent source of Group winners being bought for as little as 10,000 guineas and this year’s Tattersalls September Sale has been well supported by many of the leading British and Irish trainers,” said Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony.

“The hallmarks of Tattersalls training horse sales are quality and variety and the catalogue has all the ingredients to attract a wide range of domestic and international buyers to the Park Paddocks for the Tattersalls September Sale in 2024.”
