Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran perform at Wembley Stadium on the London Eras Tour

Sheeran appeared as a guest for the surprise song mashup at Swift’s first performance since the cancellation of the Vienna shows due to a terror threat.

Taylor Swift’s fans are on high alert at Wembley Stadium as the musician begins the last concerts of the European leg of the Eras tour. The audience must expect increased security measures after three concerts in Vienna had to be cancelled last week due to a terror threat. In their vigilance, the Swifties noticed Ed Sheeran among the guests at the London stadium. Swift chose her Red As the first surprise song of the evening, she presented her new collaboration “Everything Has Changed” and welcomed the red-haired musician on stage after she had performed the first verse alone.

Sheeran appeared with a guitar in hand to assist with the ballad, which she combined seamlessly with her Call collaboration “End Game”. Instead of delivering a typical two-song mashup, Swift switched up the performance with a duet version of Sheeran’s hit single “Thinking Out Loud”. During the song, all of the bracelets provided to fans during the show glowed in the bright green of his X (multiply) Album cover.

“He’s one of my best friends in the world, so much so that I consider him my second brother,” Swift told the audience about Sheeran. “We toured together on the Red Tour. Every time I see the Red part of the show, I think about the memories we made. And now he’s someone who plays Wembley every week. It’s just normal for him. He works so hard and he’s on tour right now and he’s probably so tired, but he wanted to come and play for you and do this for all of us. Cheers to Ed Sheeran.”

Swift closed the surprise song portion of the show with a mashup of “The Alchemy” and “King of my Heart” on the piano. Her next stadium performances are scheduled for August 16, 17, 19 and 20. After the European leg, the Eras tour will continue in North America in October.
