Texas BBQ restaurant ripped off with gigantic ,200 order

A Texas BBQ restaurant took a huge order and then the customer never heard from them again. Luckily, a true Texas “good ol’ boy” stepped in and saved the BBQ restaurant’s pork.

First of all, that’s pretty lame. Restaurants are one of the riskiest businesses, and their owners risk everything they have just to open a restaurant. Even successful restaurants struggle in an industry where there isn’t much room for error.

If clothes don’t sell or no one is buying Christmas items, they stay on the shelf until someone buys them. That doesn’t work with food.

Food, by its nature, has a limited shelf life, and once it’s cooked, that shelf life is drastically reduced. You can imagine how losing a $1,200 order can set a business back, especially a small, independent one.

Koop’s BBQ in Galveston usually takes a deposit first on large orders, but in this case it was a last-minute deal and the owners thought they were doing someone a favor. Then that someone decided to go somewhere else and didn’t tell Koop’s.

This left Koop’s with an order for 50 people.

A cry for help on Facebook brought to the attention of a Good Samaritan who performed not one but two good deeds.

Thankfully, Koop’s amended its post later Saturday to say that a “very nice gentleman” purchased the food, which was then brought to Galveston Police. “And THAT is just another reason we have the greatest community on the planet!!,” they added. – chron
