“The First Descendant” announces new hero and fixes Void Fusion Reactor nerf

The most useful patch for The First Descendant since launch is live today. While it doesn’t bring any new gear or heroes, it does bring a number of changes to annoying issues in the game. However, the game is Also There are already hints about the next Descendant, but without a date.

Above you can see the full silhouette image, which appears to show a woman with an extremely long… sniper rifle? Railgun? I’m not entirely sure. If I had to guess, we’d see mostly female offspring in this game, for, er, reasons.

There’s a theory that this is Dominique, who we saw in the campaign. That’s entirely possible, as she has a sniper rifle, but in-game she wears a hood, which this figure does not. There are obviously alternate styles for all the figures, though, and so far The First Descendant seems to be working through NPCs we haven’t seen as playable yet, starting with Luna. This hero is teased as:

“The new descendant is armed with cold fury and ready to strike. What do you think is her best strategy?”

Here’s what the new patch brings with lots of nerfs. Thankfully nerfs to enemies, not players.

Frostrunner: Here’s a long list of changes to this incredibly frustrating boss that are sometimes impossible with randomizers unless you’re Ultimate Lepic and tear him down:

1) Destroying Frenzied pieces now creates two embers.

2) The maximum threshold of the Frenzy Gauge has been increased to reduce the frequency at which the Colossus enters Frenzy.

3) Firing shots at Frenzied Colossus will reduce his leg movement, making it easier to target his weak spots.

Elsewhereyou will not suffer any more damage from fire or poison effects or ground lava once an Intercept boss is defeated.

Void Fusion Reactor Bosses Their health has been nerfed and they drop more ammo and bullets when you defeat them, allowing you to fight another one immediately without having to fast travel to replenish ammo. And with less health, you probably won’t be able to use up all your ammo in one fight.

There are more QoL changes and a lot of bug fixes with this patch, but those are the main “content” changes. The change to the Void Fusion Reactor boss is actually pretty big considering these are the most annoying fights in the open world. Nexon has also said they will continue to look at this farming loop since most people hate it in general. So there’s more to come, but you can jump in and experience these changes for yourself now.
