The first season of The Rings of Power will stream for free on Samsung devices

The second season of is just around the corner. If you haven’t seen the first few episodes yet, or want to refresh your memory and your Prime subscription has expired, you can do so for free. From today until August 28, you can do so on TVs and other devices where the Samsung TV Plus app is available.

It is the first time that the show can be streamed legally and for free (unless you had access to free). Samsung is offering the series to its users in the US, UK, Canada, Brazil and Germany on Samsung TVs and Galaxy devices. The company says the eight-episode season “will also be available on Samsung TV Plus channels in select regions worldwide.”

It is worth noting that Samsung TV Plus is ad-supported, so if you decide The Rings of Power There, the episodes will include commercials. And in addition to Samsung TVs and mobile devices, the Samsung TV Plus app is also available on some of the company’s refrigerators, so this could be an interesting way to catch up or rewatch the first season.

Meanwhile, the last trailer for the second season of The Rings of Power. “War has come to Middle Earth,” says one character (who I might recognize if I’d seen the first season) before we briefly see an army of Orcs marching toward what looks like Minas Tirith as Sauron exerts his authority. The trailer features plenty of stunning imagery, which shouldn’t be too surprising considering this is set to be the most expensive television series ever made. Season two will premiere on Prime Video on August 29.
