The internet is divided as Kamala reveals her secret vice that got her through the ‘shock and dismay’ of the 2016 election result

The internet is divided after it was revealed that Vice President Kamala Harris loves Nacho Cheese Doritos, a treat that served as a balm for her soul after the “shock and dismay” of the 2016 election.

In a fundraising email sent by her team on Friday night, she revealed that she ate the entire bag of chips by herself that night.

“(Election night) was incredibly bittersweet. When I took the stage for my acceptance speech – to represent California in the Senate – I ripped up my notes that I was going to read and just walked on stage and said, ‘We are going to fight,'” she said.

“Then I went home and sat on the couch with a family-size bag of Nacho Doritos. And I didn’t share a single chip with anyone. … And I just watched TV in utter shock and dismay.”

She even revealed that she didn’t share any of the chips with her husband Doug Emhoff.

But more importantly, she told her fans, “Eight years later, two things are true: I still love Doritos and we still haven’t stopped fighting.”

Kamala Harris said she ate an entire bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos after Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election

“(Election night) was incredibly bittersweet. When I took the stage for my acceptance speech – to represent California in the Senate – I ripped up my notes that I was going to read aloud and walked on stage and said, ‘We will fight,'” she said of the moment in an email Friday.

Emhoff himself claimed in a 2019 tweet that he “actually asked for some” of his wife’s chips the night Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election and “she told me to get another bag.”

In another video from 2019, she was asked about her secret vice in a rapid-fire round with an interviewer and she excitedly replied that it was Nacho Cheese Doritos.

“I love Doritos. I’m on Kamala’s side,” wrote one X-user.

“Doritos are my favorite snack when I’m short on time. When I saw the photo of Kamala eating them just like me, it made me feel normal,” another wrote on the platform.

Another joked that he had no problem with her choice of chips, just the flavor, writing, “The only problem with the recent Kamala scandal is that she chose nacho cheese instead of Cool Ranch.”

“On election night 2016, I ate a whole bag of these little powdered sugar donuts. Kamala is so relatable,” wrote another.

Most of Kamala's fans loved how normal she seemed in that moment, while others criticized her for seemingly degrading herself too much to appear approachable

However, former co-host of “The View”, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, found Harris’ reaction to the election result not very appropriate for potential US presidents.

“This is the emotional response of the leader of the free world — stuffing a bag of Doritos into his mouth?” she told Fox’s Sean Hannity on Friday. “This is possibly the commander in chief, this is the emotional response of the leader of the free world — stuffing a bag of Doritos into his mouth? Are you kidding me?”

She also said she would feel uncomfortable if she saw Putin drowning his sorrows in a bag of Sour Patch Kids or Qasem Soleimani eating Funyuns.

“I doubt that’s the actual reaction of an elite leader,” she continued, “whether you agree with what they’re saying or not.”

“They are angry because Kamala is eating a bag of Doritos that the average American cannot afford BECAUSE of Kamala’s economic situation,” Doug Billings wrote in response to Hesslebeck’s comments.

“How quickly Republicans forget Ronald Reagan and his jelly beans,” said Michael Cleere on X.
