The new Escape From Tarkov wipe will have Twitch Drops

There is no official release date yet for the next Escape from Tarkov Wipe, but we now know that there will be a Twitch Drops campaign running at launch, as is usually the case with end-of-year wipes.

In a post on the official Escape from Tarkov The team at Battlestate Games has announced via their social media accounts that a new Twitch Drops Summer campaign will be launching soon, almost certainly launching shortly after the new wipe.

The new Twitch Drops campaign will likely allow you to watch Twitch streamers play Tarkov and then offer in-game rewards based on the amount of time you watch. Typically, these in-game rewards range from very worthless in-game items like toilet paper and random attachments to things you wouldn’t normally unlock until much later in the wipe, like ammo boxes or even bitcoins.

In previous campaigns, rewards were given for watching someone play for just one hour Tarkov, However, the larger rewards often require you to wait more than five hours a day, so there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to claim them all.

There’s no date yet for when the campaign will launch, but it will almost certainly be a day or two after the next wipe starts. Since the wipe didn’t launch today, August 15th seems to be the most likely release date, though we’re still waiting for the promised pre-wipe events that will precede the wipe by a few days. If they don’t arrive soon, the wipe could not launch until much later in August.

Normally, Battlestate Games doesn’t run a Twitch Drops campaign for the summer wipe, instead reserving them for the winter wipes, which are usually considered much more extensive than the summer ones. However, given the controversy surrounding the last Unheard Edition wipe and the launch of PvE mode, as well as the recent bug of accidentally deleting player progress and not being able to restore it, this is likely an attempt to bring back players who have sworn off the game.

The new wipe is expected to be a little smaller than usual, but will bring with it the revamped factory map, new hideouts, and likely a brand new boss that was teased earlier this week. There should also be plenty of other fun surprises for players, as the developers like to throw in a few unannounced changes with each wipe.
