The Princeton Review ranks Berry College among the 390 best colleges

The Princeton Review has included Berry College in its annual ranking of “The Best 390 Colleges” for 2025.

As part of its publication, The Princeton Review selects the top 390 colleges from America’s 2,600 four-year college institutions. Researchers also collect surveys of current college students to create rankings in 50 categories. These results will be published in the 2025 edition of The Princeton Review’s College Guide, a popular resource for high school students choosing their college.

Berry has been ranked as one of the 109 best colleges in the South and one of the “Green Colleges” by the Princeton Review, which recognizes the sustainability efforts of academic institutions.

“My favorite extracurricular activity at Berry College is walking the trails or driving around our mountain campus, especially the student-organized midnight/full moon hikes,” commented one student.

The survey also praised Berry’s teaching staff. The Princeton Review notes that students speak highly of their professors and their dedication. They believe that Berry’s traditionally small classes and faculty-to-student ratio (about 12 to 1) enhance their learning and the overall quality of the college experience.

Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review, said, “The colleges we feature in our book are truly a select group: they represent about 15% of America’s four-year institutions. We chose them primarily because of our high opinion of their academic offerings.”

Unlike many other college rankings that focus exclusively on academic aspects and rely solely on institutional data, The Princeton Review’s rankings cover multiple categories based on student reports of their experiences at their colleges. For the 50 ranking lists released today, The Princeton Review surveyed 168,000 students over the past three academic years, an average of 430 per college. The 89-question survey asked students to rate their professors, administrators, financial aid, campus facilities, school services and other aspects of life at their college on a five-point scale. Information about the survey and the methodology for the ranking lists can be found on The Princeton Review’s website.
