Actor Jack Kesy takes on an important role by playing the title hero in Hellboy – The Cursed Man. After bringing this character to life, Kesy is intrigued by the idea of portraying DC’s most famous supervillain next.
In an interview with Geek Vibes Nation we talk about Hellboy – The Cursed ManKesy was asked which comic book character he would most like to take on next. After a short thought, Kesy decided on the Joker, Batman’s arch-enemy and one of the most famous characters in comic book history. Kesy explained that he knew this would be an incredibly demanding role and acknowledged Heath Ledger’s iconic performance in The Dark Knight shortly before his tragic death.

Kesy explained: “The joker. Because it’s challenging, it’s difficult, it’s a really big deal, you know, obviously given (Heath Ledger’s) history. There’s a lot of darkness surrounding it, but it’s just a challenging character. I like challenges.”

Hellboy – The Cursed Man is not the first comic film role for Kesy, as the actor already played Black Tom Cassidy in 2018 Deepdool 2 – The wonderful world of dreams. He has yet to play a DC character, but he could potentially do so with a role in Peter Safran and James Gunn’s newly formed DCU. The role of the Joker in the new film universe has not yet been cast, so Kesy could well get the chance to audition for the role. Of course, a role as iconic as the Clown Prince of Crime will always be highly coveted in Hollywood, so the competition will be fierce.

Hellboy – The Cursed Man was written by original creator Mike Mignola, along with Christopher Golden and director Brian Taylor. The film is directly inspired by Mignola’s comic book of the same name. The film also stars Martin Bassindale, Jefferson White, Adeline Rudolph and Leah McNamara.
Hellboy – The Cursed Man is scheduled to be released in fall 2024, but an official date has not yet been announced.
