The Poweradd Pro can be used like any other power bank; it’s fine for charging your usual mobile electronics. However, its primary purpose is charging more power-hungry devices like laptops, portable gaming consoles, and high-end phones. It has two USB Type-C ports and one USB Type-A port. Each USB Type-C port supports up to 140W of power delivery. When both ports are used simultaneously, they can each deliver up to 65W. The USB Type-A port delivers up to 22.5W. This is one of the largest capacity “pocket-sized” power banks on the market, so it measures a whopping 6 x 2 x 2 inches and weighs 1.6 pounds.
The Poweradd Pro is an excellent Steam Deck / ASUS ROG Ally charger
The Poweradd Pro is an excellent charger for handheld gaming consoles like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally and Switch. Both ROG Ally and Steam Deck suffer from short battery life when gaming on the go. During our Steam Deck review, we found that games like God of War or Spider-Man were drained in under 2 hours. Ultimately, you’ll never get the full potential of your Steam Deck or ROG Ally if you’re not equipped with a decent portable charger. The Steam Deck accepts up to 38W USB Power Delivery, ASUS ROG Ally accepts up to 65W and the Nintendo Switch up to 18W. This means that in theory, the Poweradd Pro can charge a Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally and Nintendo Switch at their maximum charging rate all at the same time. In practice, however, most power banks throttle the excess heat generated when charged at maximum wattage for an extended period of time.
The Poweradd Pro is TSA approved
The Poweradd Pro has a capacity of 27,000mAh and 97.5Wh, which is just under the TSA limit of 27,000mAh and 100Wh, so it can be taken on airplanes.
