SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (KSLA) – Thousands of visitors are in town for one of the biggest pop culture events in ArkLaTex!
The annual Geek’d Con takes place Friday, August 16th through Sunday, August 18th at the Shreveport Convention Center. The event features celebrity guests and lots of fun for the whole family. For any anime, comic or geek culture fan, this is the place to be.

There are a variety of vendors and booths at Geek’d Con, so there’s something for everyone! There are celebrity meet-and-greets, comics, trading cards, and more.
KSLA’s Andrew Wellmann was out and about on the second day of the annual convention. Local vendors say they have been pleased with the growth of the event in recent years.
“People came to our booth all day long. We handed out business cards. It was really fun,” said Jeremy Griffic. “In places like Shreveport-Bossier, people think there’s nowhere to go. But places like this make it clear that we’re here, in geek shops, hobby shops and card shops.”
“We love it. I mean, it’s great because you see whole families and everyone in the family collects or is interested in some kind of geek culture,” said Christopher Zepeda.

Friday: 5pm – 9pm
Saturday: 9am – 7pm
Sunday: 10am – 5pm
