Toast to Blue Moon inspired dishes

A new cooking challenge is coming up for home cooks. In this exclusive clip from episode 10 of MasterChef Generations, the home cooks open a Blue Moon beer to add flavour to their dishes. Former MasterChef winner Grant Gillon joins the judging panel, his fine palate ready to judge these beer-soaked creations. Which chef will raise their pint to celebrate their job well done?

Given recent challenges, the gap between top chefs and struggling chefs has widened. While everyone deserves an apron as a representative of their generation, the reality is that some chefs are better able to handle these challenges. Others may not be able to hide behind group immunity much longer.

In this episode, the chefs of MasterChef try out a fun concept: cooking with Blue Moon beer. While many people like to pair the Belgian beer with a variety of dishes, bringing out the citrus wheat flavor in a dish requires a deft hand.

According to FOX, MasterChef Season 14 Episode 10 “Beer Necessities” includes:

“The chefs must incorporate the iconic Blue Moon beer into their dishes, ensuring the bright flavors are at the forefront of their creations. With some chefs more familiar with the drink than others, this is the ultimate battle to see who can create the most impressive dish. Then, the winner of last week’s challenge can choose a chef from a different generation to also gain immunity from this week’s challenge.”

As seen in this clip, Adam from Team Gen Z uses beer in almost every part of the dish. In a way, this concept ensures that the beer flavor comes through in every component.

Baking a beer bread is quite a challenge for this kind of bread, but if he gets every element right, it will be an impressive dish.

In addition, bringing Grant, winner of MasterChef season 13, to this Blue Moon challenge is a smart idea. Many cooking TV fans will remember that in his winning three-course meal, two dishes included beer. The talented chef knows how to infuse beer flavor into a variety of dishes.

After all, this MasterChef Generations challenge serves as inspiration for many home cooks. From simple beer-battered fish to a Blue Moon Light Sky vinaigrette, there are many ways to use and enjoy this beer.

There’s also a partnership between Blue Moon and MasterChef, offering recipes and special giveaways to help fans bring a taste of the challenge into their own kitchens. The only thing missing is some fiery retorts from Gordon Ramsay.

Which home cook will be sipping a cold beer on the balcony and basking in their safety? Don’t miss the new episode on August 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX. Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
