Training program for BLOs and BLO supervisors on special summary revision of photo voter lists.
Leh, August 27, 2024: The District Election Office organized a one-day training programme for Polling Station Officers (BLOs) and BLO Supervisors on special summary of photo voter list revision today on August 27 at the Conference Hall of the District Office Leh. The training programme was chaired by Chief Election Officer Tsewang Dorjey and Officers Sajjad Hussain and Abdul Rashid.
During the programme, a presentation was made to understand the use of BLO app in carrying out the tasks assigned to the BLOs during their house-to-house survey. It was emphasized that no household should be missed during the SSR survey.
The BLOs were explained how to use the app and enter information such as address, photos, number of males, females and third gender, list of voters above 17 but not yet 18 years old and how to make changes if necessary. The roles and responsibilities of the BLOs and their contribution were also emphasized during the training.
The speaker also highlighted the importance of the Special Summary Revision. He mentioned that with new technology and the availability of online and offline services, BLOs can improve the quality and accuracy of the electoral roll.
During the training, questions from the BLOs were also answered. BLOs from different regions participated in the training.
The training was conducted in view of the schedule issued by the Election Commission of India for the special summary of revision of photo voter lists with a view to January 1, 2025 as the cut-off date in the entire UT of Ladakh as well as other States/UTs so that the final publication of the voter lists can be done.
