After 31 years with RA Nelson, including 14 as president, Travis Bossow is retiring from the employee-owned custom home and commercial real estate construction company with offices in Avon and Carbondale. Jason Morley is assuming the role of president after 20 years with the company.

Morley began his career at RA Nelson as an intern through the company’s CSU internship program and worked his way up to director of pre-construction, a position he has held for three years. Bossow’s retirement was celebrated at the EagleVail Pavilion in the presence of company founder Chupa Nelson. Nelson founded the company nearly 50 years ago in 1976.

“RA Nelson has a special culture,” Bossow said in a press release. “It feels more like a family than a stuffy corporation. We build relationships that last decades and, in some cases, a lifetime. I am proud of the work we have done and value the relationships we have built. I am grateful for the clients and all the business partnerships we have been able to build along the way. I leave RA Nelson with a full heart, a ton of gratitude and excitement for what comes next.”

“I am excited and optimistic about the future of RA Nelson,” said Morley. “Chupa laid the foundation of this company, Travis took us to the next level, and we will continue to grow and evolve with their momentum. We have a strong team of dedicated and skilled employees who are passionate about building, delivering the highest quality to our clients, and supporting the community. There is a lot of energy in this next generation, and we will continue to do great things and carry on the legacy of RA Nelson. I am grateful to Travis for instilling in us the value of integrity: doing things right, supporting each other, going the extra mile for our clients, and giving back to the community that has been so great to RA Nelson.”

“Watching Travis’ personal development during his years at RA Nelson was like watching a tree grow,” said Chupa Nelson. “Travis started as a cost estimator, was quiet and cautious, providing detailed estimates and thoughtful insights. He became so good at what he did that he was promoted to director of pre-construction services and built the team into one of the best in the industry. At the same time, he learned the power of laughter in the workplace: the tree grew, its branches unfurled and its roots spread, becoming the foundation for Travis’ success. He became a confident and thoughtful leader who learned to laugh at himself and find humor in even the most difficult times. As president of RA Nelson, Travis has done a remarkable job of leading the company while maintaining his trademark quiet and cautious approach. His influence on RA Nelson was significant and will last forever.”
