Travis Scott released from police custody after incident in Paris hotel

Rapper Travis Scott has been released from French police custody without charge following his arrest.

On Friday (August 9), it was reported that Scott was arrested after a brawl with a security guard at a Paris hotel. Scott was in the French capital to attend the Olympics, where he was spotted at the U.S. men’s basketball game with Quavo.

In a statement (via Billboard), the Paris public prosecutor’s office said: “The police custody order for Travis Scott has been lifted and all proceedings have been discontinued as this was a minor incident.”

Sources close to Scott further confirmed that the “Sicko Mode” rapper was released without charges and that none of those involved were injured, meaning there are no plans to charge him in the future.

The Houston rapper reportedly wanted to meet with internet star and Twitch streamer Kai Cenat, with whom he has previously streamed. Following Scott’s arrest, footage surfaced on X/Twitter of Cenat calling on French police to release him.

“Listen, listen, listen,” he says to a French police officer in one clip. “That’s all I have to say, brother. Please release Travis immediately.”

This is the latest in a series of legal battles for Scott, who was reportedly arrested in Miami in June for “disturbing the peace while under the influence and trespassing.”

According to prison booking records (per NBC News), the “Goosebumps” rapper was arrested on June 20 for drunk driving in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Scott – whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster – was then taken into custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center around 4:30 a.m. In addition to the charge of disorderly intoxication, he was also charged with trespassing after warning (according to Sky News).
