We love the Twelve AirFly adapters, which connect your wireless AirPods and other headphones to in-flight entertainment systems, vehicles, and more. But UGREEN recently launched a very similar device, and now it’s selling for much less than the Twelve South options. The brand’s official Amazon store has now slashed the price, along with a 20% on-page coupon to offer the new UGREEN Airplane Bluetooth Transmitter at $26.62. Shipping is free for Prime members or on orders over $35. This model launched about a week ago with a regular price of $37. Back then, there was a 15% introductory discount, but now you can grab a model at almost 30% off, making it the best price yet.
As you know from our launch coverage, it may not have as flashy a name as the Twelve AirFly, but it essentially does exactly the same thing. The small, compact adapter has up to 28 hours of battery life, hardwires into the plane’s system (as well as cars, gym equipment, TVs, and pretty much anything else with a 3.5mm jack), and then wirelessly streams audio to your earbuds or headphones via Bluetooth 5.2.
In contrast to the cheapest variant, Twelve South, this model can also send the sound to headphones at the same time.
In addition to USB-C charging, an interesting feature of this model is that it also works the other way around. In other words, you can also transfer music or podcasts from playlists on your phone to the adapter to play them, for example, from a car stereo, etc.
