UPDATE: Travis Scott released from Paris prison without charge after fight with bodyguard and hotel security guard

Update #2 (August 12): Travis Scott is a free man. The rapper was released from prison in Paris and no charges will be brought against him.

He was arrested late last week after getting into an altercation with his bodyguard at the five-star Grand V hotel. He then allegedly fought with the security guard who tried to intervene.

The Paris prosecutor’s office reportedly said that

“The police detention order for Travis Scott has been lifted and all proceedings (against him) have been dismissed as it was a minor incident.”

Update No. 1: Footage from Travis Scott It has now become known that an arrest has taken place in Paris.

A 1-minute video obtained by TMZ appears to have been shot through the window of a hotel and shows Travis Scott in the lobby of a luxury Paris hotel with his hands raised while police officers handcuff him. Three police officers then drag him out of the hotel and later he is seen sitting in the back seat of a patrol car while police officers fasten his seatbelt.

According to sources before his arrest Travis Scott was angry with the security officer involved after

“followed and harassed by paparazzi for several days.”

After his detention, he was taken to the hospital by ambulance to ensure that he was not injured, as some vase glasses had been broken during the fight.

At the time of publication, he is said to still be in custody, but no official charges have been brought against him.

His representative said:

“We are in direct contact with the local Paris authorities to resolve this matter quickly and will provide updates as needed.”

The 33-year-old rapper, who is in Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games, was arrested after an altercation with his bodyguard at the five-star Grand V hotel.

Police said they were alerted to the brawl around 5 a.m. Paris time (11 p.m. ET). A police spokesman said the Grammy winner was taken into custody upon their arrival.

“Violence against another person.”

The Paris prosecutor also stated that he was arrested for

“Violence against a security officer.”

The security guard intervened and tried to break up the fight between Travis Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, and his bodyguard.

The incident is currently still under investigation.

Meanwhile, just hours before his arrest, he had enjoyed the US team’s basketball game in which they defeated Serbia.

His most recent assignment to the authorities came shortly after bodycam footage of Travis Scott’s The June arrest was made public. The “Sicko Mode” rapper was arrested at the Miami Beach Marina for allegedly being drunk in public. He was booked into a local jail on charges of trespassing and disorderly intoxication. In new bodycam footage, he tells officers on the scene that he is afraid of them.
