Vinesh Phogat was given a grand reception as she reached Mohammadpur Majra village in Haryana. The star wrestler returned to the country after the heartbreaking performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics and was given a hero’s welcome as she landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. Phogat then performed a roadshow along with Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik. The 29-year-old created history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by becoming the first Indian female wrestler to reach the final of the Olympics but in a dramatic turn of events, she was disqualified due to being just 100 grams overweight. While she appealed to at least get a silver medal, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected it.
