Warner Chappell Music promotes David Goldsen to Senior VP of A&R

Warner Chappell Music has promoted David Goldsen as Senior Vice President of A&R for the North American A&R region.

Goldsen, who is based in Los Angeles, will continue to work with Ryan Press, WCM’s president of North America, to sign and promote songwriters and artists. In addition, he will help with leadership duties for the North American A&R department and will continue to be involved in international markets, overseeing the publisher’s A&R activities in Australia and working with local talent.

“I joined Warner Chappell’s A&R department over a decade ago and have had so many opportunities to grow into this expanding role while staying true to the development of writers and artists,” said Goldsen. “I’m very fortunate and proud to work with the best writers and artists and look forward to building on the fantastic development we’ve seen recently. Thank you to Ryan (Press), Guy (Moot) and Carianne (Marshall) for their unwavering support and vision over the years.”

Goldsen joined Warner Chappell in 2009 and has spent more than a decade signing and developing songwriters and artists from around the world. In the past year, he has signed Zach Bryan, Teddy Swims, Laufey and the Red Clay Strays, among others.

“David has demonstrated time and time again his natural ability to discover and sign top talent,” added Press. “He has consistently built a star-studded roster and in the past year alone has taken many of the artists and songwriters to the top of today’s charts. I have had the opportunity to work with him for over 15 years and I am proud of everything he has accomplished on our team as an A&R executive and inspirational leader.”

Timbaland added, “I’ve been associated with Universal Music Group and my label Mosley Music for most of my career as an artist, so UMG Nashville seemed like the right partner for us in the country space. I love their mission to give special artists a chance to be exposed to culture. Cindy, Chelsea, Charlene, Rob, Lori, Mike and the rest of the team at UMG Nashville understand our vision and I know they will be a great partner for us to continue to expose artists.”

Atlgrandma (born Liam Hall) mixes rock, rap, pop and dance music to create a distinctive style that has caught the attention of collaborators such as Willow, Izzy Spears and ericdoa, among others.

Before settling in Los Angeles, atlgrandma lived in a suburb of Atlanta, where his family relocated after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. On August 9, atlgrandma released the single “Nightmare Blunt Rotation.”
