We stayed at the worst rated and cheapest Disney hotel for 0 a night – that’s what it was REALLY like

It is “the place where dreams come true”.

But two enthusiastic travelers have shed light on the less dreamy side of Disney in the form of one of its “worst rated hotels.”

YouTube brothers Lucas and Jacob Cruikshank checked into the park’s All-Star Sports Resort in Florida for an overnight stay.

After reading dozens of negative online reviews on Reddit and Tripadvisor, the duo called it the “worst-rated and cheapest Disney World hotel.”

To find out if the complaints were justified, the siblings paid $150 to stay in a standard room.

In the introduction, Jacob explains that the Sporthotel was built in 1994 and is currently a three-star hotel.

On TripAdvisor, it currently has four out of five stars from 5,669 reviews, which TripAdvisor actually says is “pretty good.”

After exploring the grounds, where oversized sports objects are set up at various locations, the duo checks into their room number 2128.

Jacob explains that the room is located in a basketball area of the hotel.

When the brothers enter the room, they seem disappointed that there is no sporting decoration.

And to top it all off, the only Disney element they see is a framed picture of Mickey, Minnie and Donald above the bed.

Jacob notes: “This hotel room is pretty basic. It’s really not that sporty.”

Lucas, meanwhile, describes the living unit as “equipped with the bare necessities.”

After settling into the room, Lucas and Jacob discuss some of the bad reviews they’ve read about the resort.

Some of the complaints refer to “paper-thin walls,” while one reviewer complained that on the day of departure, a cleaner entered their room at 8:00 a.m. while they were in the shower.

Lucas says his biggest criticism of the place is that there are no amenities, “not even a gym.”

While other Disney resorts have multiple restaurants, All-Star Sports has only one dining hall, he says.

Speaking of food, they venture to the End Zone restaurant for dinner, with Lucas opting for garlic shrimp with steamed rice and seasonal vegetables and Jacob opting for pasta with chicken and parmesan.

While other Disney resorts have multiple restaurants, the brothers point out that All-Star Sports only has a single food hall.

They give the food a five to six out of ten, and Lucas says he gave it a lower rating because the meals were served on paper plates.

Although the flavors are considered passable, Jacob is not impressed by the atmosphere of the place.

He tells his brother, “It feels like I’m visiting a relative who is dying in the hospital, and this is the food I’m getting.”

From the dining room, the duo explores the resort’s gardens and grounds, as well as the gaming room, before retiring for the night.

However, as they go to bed, they notice dirt on one of the bedspreads and zoom in on the dirt with the camera.

The next morning they pass judgment on their stay.

Jacob tells viewers: “I slept well, but the bed is quite creaky. There were so many moments where I thought, ‘I think the bed just broke.'”

He also says he understands the criticism about the thin walls.

To date, Cruikshank's video report on Disney's All-Star Sports Resort has been viewed more than 90,000 times, with many viewers reminiscing about their own experiences there.

And although there were no major complaints, Lucas still said it was “the worst hotel I have ever been in.”

One viewer wrote: “This was the resort I stayed at when I was there in 2023!! We stayed in the tennis area and honestly had no complaints.”

“I even called the front desk about halfway through our trip and asked for more cups for the room and they brought them to the room before I could even get back there (so a very quick response time).

“Watching this really brought me back.”

Another, less enthusiastic commenter revealed: “School groups (cheerleaders, football teams, etc.) usually stay at All-Star Sports.”

“These kids have a lot of energy that they let out in the common areas outside the hotel rooms.”
