WHAT IF…? Breakout character Kahhori makes her comic book debut for Native American Heritage Month

In What if…? Season 2 introduced us to another original character created for the MCU: Kahhori. A young Mohawk woman with the power of the Space Stone, she was an instant hit with fans and took center stage in the finale alongside Captain Carter to battle the mad Strange Supreme.

Today it was announced that Marvel Comics’ annual celebration of Native American Heritage Month will be extra special this year, thanks to the release of Kahhori: Reshaper of Worlds #1a new one-shot that officially introduces the character to the Marvel Comics universe.

This new episode of Marvel’s Voices The line is written and illustrated by a number of exciting talents, including Kahhori’s co-creator and What if…? Writer Ryan Little. The character’s first adventures are also written by Indigenous creators Arihhonni “Honni” David and Kelly Lynne D’Angelo in their Marvel Comics debuts.

As for the illustrations, we can look forward to work from acclaimed Marvel artists David Cutler, Jim Terry, and others.

Here is the official description for Kahhori: Reshaper of Worlds #1:

Mohawk warrior Kahhori has made her way into Sky World and our hearts from her first appearance fighting invaders into her homeland. She’s already helped save all of reality from a mad Doctor Strange and secured peace in her own world… And NOW what? Award-winning storyteller Ryan Little sends Kahhori into the 616! She chases a threat out of Sky World and lands in the fiery streets of Hell’s Kitchen!

But culture shock will be the least of their problems when their strange adversary sweeps through New York. Featuring exciting guest stars and the comic book debuts of some exceptional writers, Marvel’s Voices brings you a very special anthology celebrating indigenous heritage and one of the MCU’s most exciting characters!

echo Star Devery Jacobs lent her voice to Kahhori and shared earlier this year her hope to reprise the role in a live-action film if the opportunity arises.

“I was very lucky to be able to play the character Bonnie in the new Echo series,” she said. “I don’t know, they brought other people back in multiple roles. So I’ll leave that to the higher-ups at the MCU.”

“But I just love this character Kahhori so much and would love to bring her to life, be it as a live-action film or as an animation. I will always be there for that.” added Jacobs.
